Post Christmas clean up

Real Christmas trees

Garden Waste subscribers can leave decoration-free trees less than 2m tall beside their garden waste bin on the first collection back. Alternatively, you can take trees to any recycling site and put in the garden waste skip.

Find your local Recycling Site online or check online for your next collection.

Wrapping paper, cards, and plastic sweet tubs

Plain paper without foil, plastic, or glitter goes with kerbside paper; large plastic tubs used for sweets and chocolate can go in the Bright Blue Bag; cards without embellishments go with cardboard. Remember to squash, flatten and scrunch your recycling where safe to do so to save space in your boxes and bag.

Vapes, batteries and small electricals

Keep these out of bins as they all have the potential to start a fire.

  • Batteries: put out in a small tied clear bag and place on top of the boxes.
  • Small electricals: put in a separate, untied bag so crews can check contents.
Vapes should be bagged separately. Or drop them at any recycling site.
