A36 Bathampton to Beckington roundabout - full overnight closures for road renewal works Monday 10 July to Saturday 15 July 2023
Published: 26 June 2023
National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads. This email is to let you know we will shortly be carrying out essential road renewal works on the A36. The work will involve replacing road studs and renewing roadmarking to improve safety and driver behaviour.
The work will start on the evening of Monday 10 July and finish on the morning of Saturday 15 July and will take place overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
To minimise disruption, we’ll work during nights only when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day we will keep the road open as usual. The work is currently programmed as follows:
- Monday 10 July to Saturday 15 July - full overnight closures of the A36 between Bathampton (just after Hampton Hall) to Beckington roundabout for 5 nights from 8pm until 6am the following morning.
There will be fully signed diversion routes in place during the full overnight closures, but please allow extra time for your journey. Diversion routes are as follows:
- Vehicle’s wishing to travel southbound on the A36 will instead travel west, then east on the A4 to join the A350 southbound. The A363 will then be joined to finally take the A361 and rejoin the A36 at Beckington. Vehicle’s wishing to travel northbound on the A36 will take the same diversion route in reverse.
Access for residents will be maintained but may involve a short delay depending on our stage of work. Please approach our gatemen who will escort you through the works if necessary.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
